This policy covers thedarkscompany.com, the website of Darks Design + Build, a remodeling contractor in San Antonio, Texas. It is written to describe what this site actually does, which is very little.

What this website collects

Nothing directly. This site has no contact forms, no account sign-in, no newsletter signup and no shopping cart. There is nowhere on it for you to submit information to us.

We do not use cookies, advertising pixels, session tracking or analytics software on this site. Nothing follows you between visits or across other websites.

What our hosting provider records

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, their servers keep standard request logs, which typically include your IP address, the page requested, the time of the request, and your browser's user-agent string. These logs are generated automatically for security and reliability purposes. We do not use them to build any profile of you and we do not combine them with anything else.

If you email us

The contact link on this site opens your own email program. If you write to us, your message reaches us through Google Workspace, and we hold it for as long as we need it to answer you and to keep a reasonable record of our correspondence.

We use what you tell us only to respond to your enquiry and to carry out work you ask us to do. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it for anyone else's marketing.

Who else sees your information

We share information with other people only in these situations:

• Suppliers and trade partners on your project — for example giving a cabinet supplier a delivery address, or a subcontractor the details they need to do their part of the work.
• Service providers we rely on to operate — our website host and email provider, named above.
• Where the law requires it — such as a valid legal request, or where necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.

We do not sell personal information, and we never have.

Photographs of completed work

Photographs shown on this site are of projects we have built. We do not publish a client's name or street address alongside them, and we remove location metadata from image files before they are uploaded. If you are a past client and would prefer photographs of your home were not shown, email us and we will take them down.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing darryl@thedarkscompany.com. Some records we may need to keep — for example contracts, invoices and warranty documentation relating to work performed — for as long as the law or our insurers require.

Children

This site is intended for adults arranging work on their homes. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Because this site collects nothing, changes are likely to be rare.
